The winner of the R124 million PowerBall jackpot has been confirmed by ITHUBA, operator of the National Lottery in South Africa, after Tuesday night’s draw on 5 August 2025[1][2]. The winning numbers for PowerBall draw 1639 were 10, 32, 34, 40, 48, with the bonus ball 14[2][5]. In addition to the jackpot, seven players matched five numbers (Division 2), each receiving more than R115,000, while 49 others won over R10,000 in Division 3[1][3].
According to lottery officials, the jackpot winner is expected to contact ITHUBA soon, as Absa banking app winners are generally notified automatically by their banks[1][3].
