Cristiano Ronaldo has rejoined Al-Nassr in Austria for pre-season training following his summer break, sharing a motivating message with fans and teammates: “It starts now. Eyes on the future. We are all in.”[1] The 40-year-old led Portugal to a Nations League victory and is focused on securing his first trophy with Al-Nassr since joining the Saudi Pro League club. He also signed a contract extension over the summer, committing to Al-Nassr until at least 2027.[1]
After his vacation, Ronaldo arrived at Al-Nassr’s training camp and greeted new head coach Jorge Jesus, who recently celebrated his 71st birthday.[3] The club released a video of Ronaldo warmly meeting his teammates and the coaching staff. Notably, Ronaldo’s new contract includes a reported 15% stake in the club, effectively making him a co-owner.[3]
Al-Nassr officially confirmed the two-year contract extension, dispelling transfer rumors that had circulated in previous months. Ronaldo stated, “Al Nassr forever,” in a video shared by the club. His continued presence is credited with raising the Saudi Pro League’s profile and attracting more renowned players to the region.[4] The club’s next friendly is set against Toulouse in Austria.[1]
Despite his new commitment, there was speculation earlier this summer about Ronaldo possibly exploring other opportunities, especially with the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup approaching. Reports indicated that Moroccan club Wydad wanted to sign Ronaldo—either permanently or on loan—to boost both their tournament prospects and international visibility.[2] While no deals materialized and Ronaldo has since extended his stay at Al-Nassr, further international offers may still arise given his ongoing performance (he scored 34 goals in 40 appearances last season).[2]
Outside football, Ronaldo celebrated a new milestone for his CR7 Underwear brand in Portugal, marking its ten-year anniversary with a widely liked Instagram post.[7]
