Gezina sits in the band of older northern suburbs that Pretoria residents call the Moot, a stretch of flat, gridded streets running between the city centre and the Magaliesberg ridge. Its neighbours are Rietfontein, Villieria, Riviera, Rietondale, Moregloed, Queenswood and Wonderboom South, with Les Marais, Eloffsdal and Mayville to the west.
The streets run into one another without much ceremony, which matters more than it sounds. Street names repeat across these suburbs, so a delivery, a visitor or an ambulance sent to the right street in the wrong suburb is a routine local problem rather than a rare one. Naming the suburb, every time, is the habit worth forming.
Two postal codes, and both are correct
Gezina uses 0084 for street addresses and 0031 for post office boxes, with the box range running from 23001 to 27800. Both come from the Post Office’s own dataset. Using the box code on a street address is the most common version of the mistake, and it delays post quietly rather than bouncing it back.
No police station is named Gezina. Pretoria Moot serves the area and merely carries a Gezina postal address.

Getting around
This is where newcomers are most often misled. There is no Tshwane bus route named for Gezina. The routes running through the surrounding Moot are Moregloed 1, Queenswood, Rietfontein 21, Villieria 1 to 3, Waverley 6 and Wonderboom South. A Re Yeng, the city’s bus rapid transit service, runs from 06:00 to 20:25 on weekdays, 06:00 to 23:40 on Saturdays and 06:00 to 20:00 on Sundays.
City buses take a connector card only. Cash and paper tickets are not accepted on any City bus, and search results quoting a cash fare are out of date.
Special-needs passengers are able to embark and disembark all A Re Yeng buses with ease.
